Podcast Integration Experience in the Language Classroom
Hi, everyone! This week's class assigned us to create a ''podcast'' . It was my first podcast creation experience, but this was a pair work unlike other assignments. Of course, we completed this assignment with my dear friend Mihriban Çizme, with whom we can work harmoniously most of the time. I thank her and you can access her post by clicking on her name. In this post, I would like to tell you about my experiences and some of the things I have learned. If you are interested, scroll down and read on. Our Podcast Creation Process Firstly, we chose the topic we wanted to create a podcast. Our topic was to create a story that interested us the most among the options given to us. We had to first write story using our own creativity and then record it by paying attention to our intonations. The most challenging part of this process was writing a story, but we managed to overcome it by helping each other. We recorded our voice in a special sound room without echo. After recording our voice, we added sound effects to our podcast. This was another challenging part because the sound effects had to be quite natural, so we made some sounds ourselves. Although we had difficulties in this part, we had a lot of fun. The most enjoyable part of the task was listening to our podcast. Although we had difficulties, the result was very satisfying. My Opinions On Podcasts Our podcast creation process taught me many new skills. As a teacher candidate, I plan to convey my experiences to my students in the future and give them a similar task. Creating podcasts can help students improve both their listening and comprehension skills as well as their speaking skills. Additionally, podcasts offer students the opportunity to learn wherever and whenever they want. Each student can listen to or create podcasts according to their own learning pace and interests. I have attached the podcast we created. Feel free to share your ideas in the comments section and stay tuned for more! There is much more to learn, see you in another post.😊
